Washington Huskies
Washington Huskies ticket holders have to be optimistic as the 2006
college football season rolls into town. Yes, the Huskies didn’t cover
themselves in glory in 2005, but things are often darkest before the dawn.
As fans prepare for their weekends in Husky Stadium they have a lot to look
forward to. Defensively the Huskies should improve with the addition of some
key players and the benefit of experience with others. Defensive ends Donny
Mateaki and Greyson Gunheim are back along with newcomer Anthony Atkins. The
secondary suffered with injuries in 2005 but that only breeds more
experienced players to move up and fill in the gaps. On offense, Isaiah
Stanback had an impressive season at quarterback last year, topping 2,000
yards in the air, and running backs Louis Renkins and Kenny James are a year
older and wiser. Washington fans would do well to arrange for their Huskies
tickets early, before the rest of the PAC 10 wakes up.
